Explorer

The Explorer Unit is the newest section of the Group and is currently run at the same time as (and with) the Scout Troop. Explorers undertake joint activities with the Scouts as well as their own activities as and when necessary. Explorers are encouraged to plan and run their own activities under the guidance of their leaders, Matt Tanton, Chloe Houghton, Jo Danks (Jacala) and Richard Ascough (Rama), supported by the Scout Leaders.

When your child begins Explorers it will take about a month for them to complete their Membership Award and give them a chance to settle in. Their investiture will take place at the end of that time. Uniform will be required for the investiture at which time they will be presented with the Group Badges.

Explorers may like to visit the Explorer page on the National Scout website by clicking here as it contains lots of information about badges and Scouts in general.
