What’s the plan?
Our current Scout Hall is not big enough for our growing number of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, or to cater for the community groups that use it.
3rd Epsom needs to extend the meeting hall and improve its accessibility, so the Group can serve our children and those following in their footsteps and continue to play an integral role in our community.
Why it matters
3rd Epsom is the oldest Scout Group in Epsom and Ewell, founded in 1922 and has always been run entirely by volunteers.
A thriving Group with 120 boys and girls aged 6-18, it covers every level of Scouting from Beavers and Cubs to Scouts and Explorers and has a strong family and community spirit.
3rd Epsom helps our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers to make friends, have adventures, explore outdoors, learn practical skills, and build their confidence and resilience.
The group also provides facilities for many local charities and businesses – everything from dance classes to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
What does 3rd Epsom need?
The group needs to raise £160,000 to build an extension to the Forge. Clearly this is a lot of money – so your support in a wide variety of activities is appreciated.
Our Fundraising is targeting multiple sources like grant-giving organisations, local businesses, and our alumni. You and your children can also play a really important role by helping to raise money.
What have we raised so far?
Over the last year, despite COVID-19, we have incresed our fundraising to £80,000. This has been through Gift Aid reclaim £3,200, Grants and donations £9,000, individual donations £2,000 and other smaller efforts.
